Domain name registration and gaining of usage rights for certain time, happens after application for domain name is submitted, accepted, and domain name usage rights are paid for.

 

It is only possible to register a name, which is free at the moment of request submission.

 

Choice of domain name:

  • In Latvian domain names can be used Latvian alphabet letters with diacritical symbols (ā, ē, ī, ū, ō, ķ, ļ, ņ, ŗ, ģ, š, č, ž ) – for example, www.zaķi.lv.
  • Apart from letters, in domain names can also be used numbers and dash “-“. Dash cannot be used as a first or last symbol of domain name.
  • Domain name cannot be shorter than 2 and longer than 64 symbols.

 

Domain name by content cannot be:

  • Registered trademark of another company, name of another company or generally accepted abbreviation of such name.
  • Name of geographical place or object. City, village or parish names can only be used by the corresponding self-government.
  • Person name.
  • Generally known name, usage of which could insult the interests of third parties.
  • Impolite or touching name or expression.

 

Order of the domain registration:

  • To register domain you need to fill the registration form.
  • If you register Latvian domain name, you can pay for this service with after payment in time of 10 days after the issuing of the bill. Bill will be sent to you by e-mail, fax or mail (depending, on what will be shown in registration form).

 

* To state and self-government institutions domain registration is a free service.
* Domain user is responsible for timely payments. Not getting the bill cannot be considered a justifying reason for not making payments in the set time period.

 

Prolonging of the domain usage term:

  • 2 weeks (14 days) until the end of domain usage term „Datateks” Ltd. will send a bill for prolonging the usage rights for a time which was written while filling the registration form. This bill has to be paid in time of two weeks (14 days) from the time it was sent out.
  • If the payment is not done in time, „Datateks” Ltd. sends reminding letter to the e-mail you have specified.
  • If payment is nod received within the next week (7 days) from the time e-mail was sent, „Datateks” Ltd. doesn’t prolong domain usage rights, and company, which does domain registration, has rights to delete domain name from database. And at that moment domain name becomes freely available for new registration.

 

* Domain name user is responsible for timely payments. Not getting the bill cannot be considered a justifying reason for not making payments in the set time period.
* Client is responsible of informing about change of his requisites.
